These are two of the main programs used by graphic designers to make things like web designs, company logos, headers, wordpress themes and many more things. Although when spending hundreds of dollars and a program like this you want to make sure your getting the best one around. Both of these excellent programs are made by Adobe the maker of Contribute, Acrobat Reader, Dreamweaver, Flash, PDF, Shockwave and many more great programs so you know your not going wrong when buy an Adobe program.
So which one is better for me? You have to decide what your going to be using the program for, if your going to be using the program full time, you want a bigger range of features to use and you want to make very professional designs then I would recommend Photoshop and it is only $50 more than Illustrator although Illustrator has a lot of benefits as well Illustrator is great because it allows you to use vectors and go just a bit further than Photoshop and be a lot more unique. Although there is a downside to Illustrator which is that the majority of people choose Photoshop over Illustrator and Photoshop is more popular so therefore there’s a lot more brushes, designs and tutorials for designers to use for Photoshop. Part of creating a good design is finding a good application resource to use in your design and because they make your designs look very professional and the ones included in the program are just stock standard and aren’t the best. So in the end it’s up to you whether you want to use Illustrator because it is outstanding in a few areas like vectors and that’s all you be doing or with Photoshop it’s good in all areas but not as outstanding in some like Illustrator.
